AI is changing our medical care.

You have a right to be heard. It's time to make our data work for us!

About this patient-led project.

Patient AI Rights Initiative

It is time for patients to lead change to advance the rights, interests, and voices of patients in health AI.

We recognized an unmet need to bring patient community representation to shape the governance of AI Policy, through our diverse and growing coalition of patient advocacy organizations and leaders.

Partnering For Impact

This project was made possible with funding from Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation.  As we embark upon this work, we will work to establish foundational expectations for patient partnership with national initiatives on AI rights and governance.

To launch this collaboration, our patient-led cohort has proudly partnered with the National Academy of Medicine in their AI Code of Conduct Initiative.  This is a historic and unprecedented effort to make patient voices central to emerging policy for healthcare AI.

Make patient voices heard.

Every contribution matters and shapes the comprehensiveness and inclusivity of our Patient-Led Rights in AI. Do not let the healthcare ecosystem assume and speak to what patient rights in AI should be.

About This Project

We designed a way to collect feedback from both public and private sources, in order to draft the first ever patient-led framework for AI Rights. We invited patient community stakeholders to share their thoughts through public comments, and we also sought input from key stakeholders through private comments. By combining these perspectives, we aimed to ensure that a wide range of voices were heard and incorporated into improving our initial draft.
